Through PERN, HEC has given the online access of journals and research papers to UET Taxila.
This access is free for all the students and faculty members within the university.

Central Library UET Taxila

The Central Library of the University plays a vital role in dissemination of knowledge, teaching, research and extension services. More than 47000 books on diverse fields are available in the library. Besides Engineering Subjects considerable reading material on Humanities, Social science, Islamic studies is available. National & international issues of scientific and technical serials on diverse fields are also available in the reference hall.
Library books are computerized and library members search their required books through computer, available in the reference hall.

At present library has a seating capacity more than 150 readers in circulation & reference halls.

Digital library services have also introduced in 2005 by the co-operation of higher Education Commission through PERN (Pak. Educational Research Network). This facility is especially very helpful to those members who are involved in research activities. They may acquire primary reading material, scientific & technical journals, free of cost from the IEE, IEEE, ASME, ASCE, OUP, Science direct, Springer link Scopus, etc. this facility is only for university clientless and R & D organizations only.

New library building multistory (having 43293 Sq.ft covered area) is under construction and will be completed in Decembers & readers at its three halls (30’ *60’ each):

  1. Reference Hall: This hall stocked with encyclopedias, handbooks related to each disciplines, standards, specifications, yearbooks, almanacs, reserve collection of text & general textbooks.

  2. Circulation Hall: It is stocked with subject & textbooks and oriental section is also placed in this hall. Donation section is also set in this hall.

  3. Book-Bank Hall: In this section textbooks are available this section lends textbooks to the students on nominal rent i.e. Rs.20/- per book for an academic session every student may get eight books from this section.

Library Timings: 7:30a.m. to 6:30 p.m on all working days providing break for Jumma 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m.

Professionals: Two, A Library & Information Science one in morning shift 7:30 a.m to 2:00p.m, Ones in Evening shift 12:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m. fourteen non-professional.

Budget: Annual budget for acquisition of books & subscription of journals.

Membership: Faculty members and students (Graduate post-graduate and P.HD).
Faculty members of Chakwal campus are also given membership. Syndicate members may also get membership.
